A Marathon Challenge for Two Causes

On 27 April 2025, John Terry, founder of the John Terry Foundation, and his close friend and former Chelsea teammate Jody Morris proudly crossed the finish line of the TCS London Marathon, raising an incredible £52,000 for the John Terry Foundation and Rays of Sunshine.

Finishing Strong, Side by Side

Together, they took on the 26.2-mile challenge with determination and true team spirit, pushing through cramps, fatigue and minor injuries to finish side by side in a time of 5:00:43.

“It was the toughest thing I’ve ever done,” said John. “But doing it alongside Jody, and knowing the funds raised will support such worthy causes, made every step worthwhile.”

Jody added:

“We trained hard, pushed through pain, and finished together, just like mates do. Raising money for Rays of Sunshine and the John Terry Foundation made it all the more special.”

Supporting Children and Communities

The joint fundraising effort will support Rays of Sunshine’s work granting wishes to seriously ill children, alongside the John Terry Foundation’s mission to ensure every child and adult has the chance to thrive, free from limitations.

Join Team JTF in 2026

While John and Jody will not be returning to the start line in 2026, we would love to hear from anyone with a London Marathon ballot place who would like to run in support of the John Terry Foundation. Fundraisers who join Team JTF will receive a personal message of support from John, alongside encouragement and guidance throughout their fundraising journey.

The John Terry Foundation thanks everyone who donated, supported and cheered them on. Your generosity truly makes a difference. Got a ballot place? Get in touch and help us go the distance together.
